Philips Digital Signage Transforms Communication at Putnam County School System

The Putnam County School System (PCSS) has upgraded its central office communications by installing Philips Professional Displays, improving engagement and streamlining how information is shared across its spaces.

PCSS serves more than 12,000 students and operates 22 schools. With its central offices hosting meetings, events and cross-district collaborations daily, the district needed a more modern, flexible signage system. The goal was to manage content dynamically across its reception, conference rooms and boardroom—displaying meeting agendas, live video feeds, and presentation materials in a clear and professional format

Partnering with Howard Technology Solutions, PCSS deployed 10 Philips Signage 3000 Series (Q-Line) displays ranging from 55 to 98 inches. The displays deliver 4K resolution, support static and video content, and offer consistent visibility in various lighting environments. Each display includes a built-in Android SoC for secure remote management using the Philips Wave platform.

Wave enables PCSS staff to update content remotely around the clock, allowing for consistent messaging and real-time control over multiple displays. The platform simplifies management of announcements, schedules and other materials for both in-person and virtual meetings.

Patrick VanTreese, Director of Business Development at PPDS, commented: “The flexibility of the Philips Wave platform ensures that the district can continuously evolve and adapt its content to meet the needs of various events.

“With the implementation of Philips digital signage, the Putnam County School System has not only improved communication within its district, it has also set a new standard for how educational offices can leverage technology to engage staff, students, and external partners more effectively. This transformation showcases how the right tools can dramatically enhance an organisation’s ability to communicate, collaborate, and innovate.”

The installations of the Philips signage displays have had an immediate and overwhelmingly positive impact at the central offices, creating a more professional look and feel, while the capabilities have significantly enhanced the productivity and efficiencies for all meeting types. Staff have also seen increased levels of engagement during meetings and events, with the Philips signage creating a more interactive and collaborative experience for all involved, with dynamic content ensuring all attendees are involved and engaged at all times. The straightforward accessibility and user friendliness of the control system has been embraced by all team members, including those with minimal or no previous experience, allowing meetings and events to begin on time and to be presented with confidence and professionalism.

Sam Brooks, Future Ready Supervisor, Putnam County School System, added: “The new Philips digital signage solution has truly transformed our ability to communicate. Not only have we enhanced the presentation of information, we have also made our meetings more engaging and effective for all, whether in person or virtual.”

Johnny Sloan, Technology Supervisor, Putnam County School System, continued: “The flexibility and user friendliness of the Philips Wave platform has made it incredibly easy to manage our digital signage content, giving us complete control over the displays and creating dynamic content that better engages both in-person and virtual participants.”

Corby King, Director of Schools at Putnam County School System, concluded: “With Philips Professional Displays we have enabled a seamless experience where anyone can enter our meeting room and, within just a few minutes, have their presentation ready to go. The straightforward accessibility and user friendliness of the control system not only saves time but also allows individuals to lead meetings confidently, even if they lack prior experience.”
