Atomos has introduced the StudioSonic Shotgun Mic, a new compact microphone offering both wired and wireless operation. Designed for professional content creators and field production, the mic can connect via 2.4GHz wireless or directly through a locking USB-C connector, delivering flexible performance for cameras, monitors and computers.
The super cardioid condenser mic captures 48kHz/24-bit digital audio and is tuned to isolate voices even in challenging acoustic environments. It features both analog and digital outputs, with the USB-C option enabling direct connection to computers for podcasting, streaming or recording.
An internal rechargeable battery powers the mic for 7 to 8 hours in wireless mode and up to 50 hours when connected via USB-C. The system includes a 2.4GHz wireless receiver with less than 20ms latency and a range of up to 100 meters in line-of-sight conditions, or 20 meters in congested environments.
Additional features include a 75Hz low-cut filter, 150Hz high-cut filter, a high-frequency boost and manual gain control. An onboard OLED screen displays audio levels and status in real time.
Housed in a shielded metal body for field durability, the mic’s USB-C connector uses the same locking design found on other Atomos products like the Shinobi II and Ninja Phone, ensuring a secure and professional-grade connection.
