Grass Valley adds Dante audio integration to AMPP OS

Grass Valley announced the integration of native Dante audio networking within its AMPP OS through a collaboration with Audinate, the pioneer behind the Dante® AV-over-IP platform.

The update brings Dante connectivity directly into AMPP OS, allowing operators to discover, manage and route Dante audio streams without external hardware. The system supports up to 128×128 bidirectional channels with latency as low as 1 millisecond, delivering robust audio performance across AMPP-powered workflows.

With Dante built into AMPP, Grass Valley said users can take advantage of software-defined audio routing suited for production in studios, on location or in the cloud. The integration aligns with AMPP’s microservices architecture, enabling operators to mix Dante streams alongside other IP audio formats within the GV Media Universe.

Key highlights:

  • Native integration of Dante audio within AMPP OS
  • Flexible licensing, with hourly and monthly access models
  • Support for up to 128 input and 128 output channels with low latency
  • Software-based interoperability with other IP audio standards
  • Deployment across cloud, on-prem, or hybrid environments

The solution supports Dante Domain Manager for networked installations, including the creation of multiple clocking domains, creation and management routing across VLANs and subnets, creating and management of AES67 and ST2110 device domains, and monitoring system performance. Flexible licensing options include hourly and monthly access models.
