Waves’ eMotion LV1 Grows to 80 Channels With New Expansion and Software Enhancements

Waves Audio has announced an expansion and software update for its eMotion LV1 live mixing console, introducing an 80-channel option and version 16 (v16) of its LV1 software platform.

The new 80-channel expansion allows users to upgrade any 64-channel LV1 system, including the recently launched LV1 Classic, to 80 stereo channels, 160 inputs, and 52 buses. The added eight buses can be assigned in two modes: Groups mode, which provides up to 16 audio groups, or Monitors mode, which supports up to 24 monitor aux sends.

To enable the upgrade, users will need a 64-channel LV1 license upgraded to v16, along with a separate 80-channel expansion license.

Parnelli Award-winning front-of-house engineer Ken “Pooch” Van Druten, who recently selected the Waves LV1 Classic console for Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson’s U.S. tour, commented on the expansion:

“This is exciting news. 80 stereo channels and 160 inputs inside this compact console means new possibilities: I would seriously take this small console out on arena tours. This upgrade goes to show how committed Waves are to keep growing the LV1 platform.”“This is exciting news. 80 stereo channels and 160 inputs inside this compact console means new possibilities: I would seriously take this small console out on arena tours. Waves also introduced the LV1 v16 software update, available free to all LV1 Classic users. The update includes enhancements such as improved DSP efficiency, new Scenes and Recall Safe filters, customizable user keys and shortcuts, and expanded Aux Send Flip and Mixer Mode functions.

Other updates include a cleaner Input Mixer mode for A/B switching, improved routing menus, new keyboard shortcuts, and a plugin search function.

According to Waves, the software improvements and channel expansion provide users with more processing power, flexibility, and scalability for both live and studio mixing.
