Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America has released the XP-E501U, the first projector in its new E Series lineup. Designed for classrooms and other small to mid-size learning spaces, the model gives schools a bright, low-maintenance display option without relying on traditional lamps.
The XP-E501U outputs 5,000 lumens to keep images clear in both dim and well-lit rooms. It includes a 16-watt speaker and dual HDMI inputs to support common classroom devices. The projector also ties into NaViSet Administrator 2, Sharp’s management software that lets IT teams control and monitor devices across a network.
Ryan Pitterle, senior product manager for Sharp Display Solutions, said the goal was to build a projector that reduces classroom hassle. “This projector was designed to be straightforward to use, which saves teachers time in the classroom so that they can focus on their lessons and presentations, and less on whether the technology is working properly,” he said.
The model uses a laser light source intended to run for years with little maintenance. An ECO Mode automatically powers the projector down when it’s not in use and turns it back on when it detects a signal, helping schools cut energy use.
Sharp is offering the XP-E501U with a five-year or 20,000-hour parts and labor limited warranty. More information is available on the company’s website.
