OSA International used Absen X5 LED displays to support visuals for Megan Moroney’s nationwide tour, selecting the 5.2 mm outdoor LED system for its durability, serviceability and consistent performance across more than 60 shows. Moroney, who gained national attention with her single “Tennessee Orange,” has performed in a wide range of venues, including rodeos, festivals, arenas and outdoor stages. Her debut album, Lucky, arrived in 2023, followed by Am I Okay? in 2024, which debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
The variety of venues required an LED solution capable of managing tight schedules, weather changes and repeated transport. OSA International deployed Absen’s X5, a legacy product no longer in production but still performing like new. The company cited the product’s long-term stability, fast service access and rugged construction as key advantages throughout the tour.
Matt Searle, video director for OSA International, said the X5 tiles performed reliably in all conditions, including weather-sensitive locations such as Red Rocks. “The reliability and durability really come from the standard of the tile itself,” Searle said. “You can put a lot of weight on it, and if you need to swap out a tile, it’s easy to do so.” He noted that the design reduced pressure points found in other systems, helping speed up load-in and load-out. After more than 60 shows, he said the X5 “looked just as good as it did on the first show.”
Searle added that the stability of the system directly supported show execution. “The durability of the tiles made it so that we knew we had a safe show,” he said. “It made it good for me directing the show, knowing everything was safe and performing the way it should.”
Absen’s technical support contributed to the tour’s reliability. Searle said the U.S. support team responded quickly to early-tour issues. “As soon as I had issues on the first show out, they had a technician available standing by,” he said. “It felt good going across the country and other countries knowing they were a phone call away.” That rapid response emphasized Absen’s commitment to long-term product reliability through ongoing support, which is a core element of the company’s engineering philosophy.
Production manager Timmy Abercrombie said the X5 system worked effectively for both indoor and outdoor use. The heavier tile structure allowed crews to secure LED walls in windy conditions while maintaining fast assembly times. “It’s been a system that’s worked,” he said. “The build time is completely fast and efficient.”
Abercrombie described how an earlier issue was resolved quickly through Absen’s remote support. “Absen took over one of the tiles and the computer,” he said. “Within 10 minutes, they had it fixed. Everything was up and running, and we were ready for the show that night.” He credited the collaboration between OSA International and Absen with keeping the tour on schedule.
Niel Niu, mechanical design engineer for Absen Inc., said the company aims to provide both equipment and continued support. “We are not only an LED manufacturing company; we are a full solution support partner,” he said. Niu noted that the X5’s durability and service-friendly design reflect the engineering approach used across Absen’s current product portfolio.
Absen’s X5 is a 5.2 mm LED display designed for outdoor rental applications, including concerts, festivals and live events. It supports front and rear module access to speed up servicing and offers brightness levels above 5000 nits and a high refresh rate for clear visibility in varied lighting conditions.
OSA International’s use of the X5 system helped deliver consistent visuals throughout a demanding tour schedule, maintaining image quality across diverse environments, weather conditions and travel requirements.
