Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) has named Matt Clark, founder of United Visual Artists (UVA), as the Creative Keynote speaker for ISE 2026, taking place Feb. 3–6 in Barcelona.
Clark, a British artist known for combining light, sound, code and choreography, will deliver his keynote on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in Room CC4.1. His session, titled “Hidden Order: Building a Performance-led Mapping at Casa Batlló, from Concept to Implementation,” will examine the creative and technical process behind an architectural façade mapping project.
The keynote centers on Hidden Order, a façade mapping commissioned by Casa Batlló and produced in collaboration with UVA. The work is scheduled to be presented to the public on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, ahead of ISE 2026, as part of Casa Batlló’s annual mapping event in Barcelona.
Now in its fifth year, the Casa Batlló mapping is presented free to the public and uses the building as both subject and medium. Clark’s work draws inspiration from Antoni Gaudí’s relationship with geometry and nature, using light, motion and sound to deconstruct and recompose the façade. Human movement and choreography are incorporated as compositional elements, while the project responds to architectural and technical constraints.
During the keynote, Clark will walk through the project from initial concept to on-site delivery, covering research, prototyping, content systems, technical design and show control. He will also discuss how UVA translates architectural structures into a controllable visual system and how constraints shape composition.
The Hidden Order project will also extend inside Casa Batlló as part of Beyond the Façade, a five-month site-specific exhibition opening Jan. 31 on the building’s second floor. The exhibition offers visitors an immersive view into the creative process behind the mapping, combining light, motion and technology to explore the relationship between architecture and human presence.
