HID Introduces One Credential for Access Across Buildings, Devices and Apps

HID announced the launch of its Converged Credentials solution at ISC West 2026, introducing a unified approach to managing physical and digital access across organizations.

The solution is designed to allow employees to use a single credential to access buildings, workstations and enterprise applications, replacing the need for multiple systems and authentication methods.

HID said the approach is intended to simplify identity management while improving visibility and control for security teams. By consolidating physical and logical access, organizations can reduce complexity and address gaps created by separate systems.

“Our customers have trusted HID to secure their facilities for decades. HID Converged Credentials is a direct response to what they’re telling us: they want fewer vendors, less complexity and a credential that works everywhere, from the front door to the desktop and the cloud. We’re uniquely positioned to deliver that, because identity is in our DNA,” said Daniel Gundlach, Vice President and Head of Business Unit, NAM – PACS, HID.

The solution supports standards including FIDO2 and PKI, enabling passwordless authentication across both physical and digital environments. HID said this allows organizations to strengthen security while simplifying credential provisioning, auditing and access control.

According to HID’s 2026 State of Security and Identity Report, 75% of organizations have deployed or are evaluating converged identity solutions, while more than half cite fragmented systems as a key challenge.

“Security teams today are looking for solutions that reduce complexity without compromising protection,” said Sean Dyon, VP and Head of Authentication, HID. “HID Converged Credentials delivers on both fronts, giving employees one credential to access the building, their workstation and applications, while making credential management simpler and more efficient for organizations.”

HID Converged Credentials is available in multiple form factors, including smart cards, security keys and NFC-enabled readers, designed to support a range of enterprise environments and user needs.

The company will demonstrate the solution at ISC West 2026.
