Whitwam AVI Upgrades Headquarters to Showcase Modern Workplace AV

Whitwam AVI has transformed the meeting room at its headquarters in Winchester, England, into a live demonstration space where customers can experience workplace AV technology before making purchasing decisions.

The new environment is designed to showcase the types of meeting room systems organizations are increasingly deploying to support hybrid collaboration, bring-your-own-device (BYOD) workflows and simplified meeting experiences.

Rather than serving only as a conference room, the space doubles as a working example of how integrated AV systems can reduce complexity for employees while supporting both in-person and remote collaboration.

“As the use of Teams increases for meetings with suppliers and clients, it was important for Whitwam to have a dedicated space where multiple people could join the same call together,” says Ray Clarke, Operations & Engineering Manager at Whitwam AVI. “This not only helps reduce noise in the wider office but also supports in-person collaboration with remote participants. Usability was also essential. We wanted the boardroom system to be truly plug-and-play, allowing meetings to start on time without users having to troubleshoot the AV.”

The meeting room supports both wired and wireless presentations, allowing users to connect using their preferred workflow without changing room settings. Wireless presentations are available through Barco ClickShare, while wired HDMI connections are automatically prioritized when connected. The room also includes a Panasonic laser projector, a Lightware switcher and a Sennheiser TeamConnect Bar M for audio and video conferencing.

Whitwam AVI also plans to add a Joan room scheduling panel outside the meeting room to demonstrate how organizations can manage meeting spaces as bookable resources.

Whitwam AVI said the meeting room was designed around simplicity, flexibility and ease of use, showcasing the types of workplace AV systems it delivers for corporate environments.

“The room was designed to reflect the same priorities we discuss with our clients every day,” Clarke said. “By using the systems we install for customers within our own premises, we can demonstrate the technology in a real-world setting and showcase hardware from manufacturers we trust for performance and reliability.”
