Northern California AV integrator PCD has announced a leadership transition as longtime President John Rudolph retires after nearly three decades with the company. Hal Truax, who joined PCD as vice president in early 2025, has been named the company’s new president following what PCD described as a planned succession process.
According to the company, the transition is intended to provide continuity for employees, customers and partners while supporting continued growth. Rudolph joined PCD in 1999 and helped expand the company from its roots in school sound systems and commercial cable television distribution into a full-service AV systems integrator serving education, government, hospitality, performing arts, corporate and commercial markets. PCD also recognized former operations leader Bill Graham, who retired earlier this year, for helping establish the operational foundation that supported the company’s growth.
Truax brings more than 30 years of experience in audiovisual integration, executive leadership, business development and strategic growth. PCD said he worked alongside Rudolph for several months to help ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers.
For end users, the leadership change signals continuity at an AV integration firm that designs and supports technology deployments across a variety of markets. PCD said it plans to continue focusing on helping organizations address technology challenges while building long-term customer relationships.
