Panasonic LUMIX and LiveU Create Mobile Workflow for Live Production

Panasonic LUMIX has introduced its “Live Anywhere” workflow, a mobile live production setup demonstrated in collaboration with Social180Group and LiveU. The system combines Panasonic cameras with LiveU transmission technology to allow production teams to stream from locations without relying on traditional broadcast infrastructure.

The workflow was demonstrated at NAB 2026 and InfoComm 2026, where the team produced dozens of live streams from the show floors. The setup used the LUMIX S1II as the primary handheld camera, connected via HDMI to a LiveU Solo PRO. A Panasonic AW-UB50 box camera was also connected via SDI to a LiveU LU800 production field unit.

“This was about staying mobile and staying fast,” said John Porterfield. “We were able to move through the NAB show floor, capture what we needed, and go live without being tied down to a traditional setup. The combination of LUMIX and LiveU gave us the reliability and image quality we needed in a very unpredictable environment.”

LiveU’s Solo PRO and LU800 use bonded cellular connectivity for live transmission, while the LUMIX S1II provides features including image stabilization, hybrid phase autofocus and open gate flexibility. According to Panasonic, the combination allows creators and production teams to produce live content without satellite trucks, hardwired internet connections or large production teams.
