Vue Cinemas Adds Auri Assistive Listening Technology Across 200 Screens

Vue is installing Auri, an Auracast broadcast audio-based assistive listening system from Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, across its cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland. The technology has been rolled out across 20 Vue cinemas and 200 screens to provide more accessible and personalized audio experiences for moviegoers.

Auri allows patrons with Auracast-enabled hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones or earbuds to receive cinema audio directly through their compatible devices. Dedicated Auri receivers are also available for guests who do not have compatible devices. In addition to supporting people with hearing loss, the system can deliver audio descriptions for visually impaired patrons and provide an alternative listening experience for individuals with neurodiversity.

“Partnering with Ampetronic | Listen Technologies to install Auri is the next step on that journey, helping to remove barriers and deliver crystal-clear audio to every seat,” said Narinder Shergill, general manager at Vue U.K. & Ireland. “It means audiences can focus on what matters most: deeper connections, bigger emotions and unforgettable moments that stay with them long after the credits roll.”

Auri transmitters can broadcast venue audio to an unlimited number of receiving devices within range and can be installed alongside existing assistive listening systems. Vue can also use Auri Manager software to configure and manage transmitters and receivers across its cinema network.
