Wisycom wireless systems and DPA Microphones were deployed to support live audio and broadcast production during Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Spain, which included liturgical celebrations, public appearances and institutional events.
For the final stages of the visit in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, Hi Vision handled broadcast coverage for local television across the Canary Islands. The production used a Wisycom wireless system that included MCR54 Multichannel Receivers, MTP60 Bodypack Transmitters and MTH610 Handheld Transmitters. Wisycom RPU500 Full Duplex Reporter Systems, MTK982 In-ear Transmitters and MPR60 Receivers were also used to support monitoring throughout the events.
According to Lluc Torres, SeeSound broadcast division product manager, the Wisycom system was selected to provide reliable RF performance while giving the production team flexibility to operate across multiple venues and changing environments. “Stable wireless operation was essential, not only for live speeches, but also for the coordinated production workflows that took place behind the scenes,” Torres said.
The production also used DPA 4098 Gooseneck Microphones for Pope Leo XIV’s addresses. The microphones were selected for speech intelligibility and their immunity to RF interference in environments with dense wireless activity. SeeSound, the Spanish distributor for Wisycom and DPA Microphones, supplied the technologies and worked with production partners to support the events.
