BenQ has introduced the W5850, a 4K laser home cinema projector designed to deliver color-accurate visuals and flexible installation options for medium-sized AV rooms.
The W5850 uses a laser light source rated at 2,600 lumens and is capable of projecting images up to 180 inches from approximately 13 feet away. A shorter throw lens and 1.6x optical zoom allow installers to adjust image size and placement more easily in spaces with limited depth.
According to BenQ, the projector is designed to prioritize color accuracy. It supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and includes individual factory calibration reports for Rec. 709 performance, with Delta E values below 2.
The W5850 also includes support for modern audio and connectivity workflows. Available ports include dual HDMI 2.1 inputs, USB Type-A connections, SPDIF and eARC support for transmitting multichannel audio, including Dolby Atmos, to external sound systems.
The projector is available for purchase through BenQ’s website and authorized retailers, including B&H, ProjectorScreen, SnapAV and ADI.
