Three Christie Jazz Series 1DLP laser projectors are powering a new large-format display at the Building Centre in London, creating an L-shaped visual backdrop for events and exhibitions.
The installation uses Jazz Series 4K1600-JS projectors to illuminate a screen measuring 15 meters long by 2.8 meters tall across two walls of the venue’s main gallery. The display supports presentations, product launches, film screenings and brand storytelling within the event space, which hosts gatherings of up to 350 guests.
The project was completed in eight weeks through a collaboration between ARC Audio Visual & IT Solutions Limited, distributor Audio Visual Material and Christie. The venue required a replacement for a single-projector setup that could deliver improved brightness and reliability while supporting varied content ranging from CAD walkthroughs and architectural presentations to video and live event streaming.
The installation also had to address challenges including strong natural light from large windows and the constraints of working in a busy historic building. ARC handled system design, installation and post-installation training, while Christie supported pre-sales consultation and final commissioning.
Since launch, the dual-wall display with a 90-degree corner configuration has been used for presentations, showcases and design-focused events.

“From consultation to completion, the solution not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations,” says Ralph Ellingham, Managing Director at ARC. “We have worked with Christie, via AVM, for 20 years and they are our go-to partner on projects requiring high-end projection.”
Danielle Williams, commercial director at AVM, said the three companies coordinated to meet a tight deadline and deliver the upgrade on schedule.
“We are pleased with the new technology, and proud to offer the UK’s only dedicated immersive screens for the built environment, making our exhibitions even more accessible to a diverse audience. Likewise, our venue hire clients have been impressed with the screen’s versatility for storytelling and to showcase their brand so effectively within our centre,” says Dr Ben Hounsell, the Building Centre.
The Jazz Series 4K1600-JS projectors provide 16,600 lumens of brightness in a compact chassis and use a 0.8-inch HEP DMD with an optical design intended to enhance color, contrast and cooling efficiency.
