Over 100 Christie Projectors Power Immersive Experiences at Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum

More than 100 Christie Inspire Series 1DLP laser projectors are transforming the new Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum into an interactive hub of learning and exploration.

Installed by Jianye Display and Shanghai Qingying Digital Technology, the projectors light up multiple exhibition halls with vivid visuals that immerse visitors in science and technology. The futuristic museum, located in Shenzhen’s Guangming District, is themed around “Digital Civilization” and features four permanent halls with 950 exhibits—over 80 percent of them interactive. Since opening, the museum has welcomed more than one million visitors in just three months.

On the third floor, exhibits such as “Mysteries of Mind and Body,” “Digital Art” and the “Communications Technology Pavilion” use special-shaped projection, interactive mapping and immersive displays to bring science concepts to life. Highlights include a massive interactive wall where visitors can explore natural landscapes and game-like environments, and a digital art zone where geometric patterns in nature are projected in high detail.

“We are privileged to participate in this landmark project,” said a representative from Jianye Display. “The project team successfully addressed various technical challenges presented by the diverse integration requirements of the exhibits, achieving a result that met expectations. The Christie projectors delivered exceptional brightness, contrast, and stability, ensuring each exhibit met the high visual standards required for this venue.”

On the fifth floor, the “Origins of the Universe” hall, designed by Shanghai Qingying, invites visitors to journey from the smallest particles to the farthest galaxies. More than 20 Christie projectors immerse audiences in exhibits such as “Mystery of the Black Holes” and “The Universe,” combining advanced projection with storytelling to inspire curiosity about space and science.

“This was a challenging yet highly rewarding project,” said a spokesperson from Shanghai Qingying. “Each installation presented unique requirements, but our team’s expertise, combined with the DWU860-iS’s high brightness, contrast, and reliability, ensured an outstanding visual presentation.”

The Christie Inspire Series is built for long-term use in high-traffic venues such as museums and science centers. The projectors offer high brightness and resolution with a sealed optical engine designed for up to 20,000 hours of operation with little maintenance. Integrated Christie Twist software supports advanced image warping and blending, while compatibility with Christie Mystique simplifies alignment and recalibration when using multiple projectors.

Han Kim, vice president for Sales, Asia-Pacific, Christie, said, “We are honored to work with Jianye Display and Shanghai Qingying on this significant project. The Inspire Series has become a trusted solution for museums and science venues thanks to its exceptional image quality, reliability, and ease of maintenance. This installation is a testament to how Christie technology can enhance knowledge sharing and create inspiring immersive experiences for the public.”
