Extron Begins Shipping NAV E 222 Encoder for USB-C and HDMI Sources

Extron announced that its NAV E 222 USB-C and HDMI switching encoder is now shipping, expanding input options within the company’s NAV Pro AV over IP Series platform.

The NAV E 222 adds USB-C input capability and integrated input switching to the NAV platform, supporting both USB-C and HDMI sources. Input switching can be configured for automatic or manual operation, allowing the encoder to adapt to different room and workflow requirements.

When used with the optional Extron UPI 100 Power Inserter, the encoder can supply up to 100 watts of power to a connected USB-C device. The NAV E 222 also supports the AES67 audio over IP standard, enabling integration with Extron DMP Plus digital signal processors and other IP-enabled audio systems.

Extron said the NAV platform is designed to support demanding professional AV applications and enables secure deployment of AV signals to thousands of endpoints. The platform can be deployed as an IP-based video and audio matrix while maintaining interoperability between 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps NAV encoders and decoders.

The NAV Series supports real-time transport of video resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and ultra-low latency over Ethernet networks. The system is intended for use in demanding professional AV environments that require flexible signal routing and centralized management.

“We’re pleased to introduce the NAV E 222 switching encoder with new USB-C connectivity, meeting the growing demand for modern, versatile AV integration,” said Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for Extron. “With all the power and reliability you’ve come to expect from our award-winning NAV Series, as well as the ability to power and charge connected USB-C devices, the NAV E 222 brings added convenience and efficiency to any Pro AV installation.”
