Extron has announced the upcoming release of the NAV E 222, a new switching encoder that adds USB-C input capability to the company’s NAV Pro AV over IP Series. The device provides AV system designers with more flexibility for high-performance streaming and modern connectivity.
The NAV E 222 features USB-C and HDMI inputs and supports auto or manual input switching. It can also power USB-C devices with up to 100 watts when paired with Extron’s optional UPI 100 Power Inserter. The encoder supports the AES67 audio-over-IP standard, allowing integration with Extron DMP Plus DSPs or other IP-enabled audio components.
According to Extron Chief Marketing Officer Casey Hall, the NAV E 222 was developed to meet the growing demand for versatile AV system integration. “With all the power and reliability you’ve come to expect from our award-winning NAV Series, as well as the ability to power and charge connected USB-C devices, the NAV E 222 brings added convenience and efficiency to any Pro AV installation,” Hall said.
Designed for professional AV applications, the NAV platform delivers low-latency, high-quality video and audio distribution over Ethernet networks at low bitrates. It supports resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and offers interoperability across 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps systems. The NAV E 222 extends the platform’s flexibility for scalable, secure AV-over-IP deployments.
