Green Hippo announced its shooting the new 2U Hippotizer MX Series Media Servers, KASAI MX and TAGUS MX. The servers are designed to support smaller productions, permanent installations and compact touring rigs that require professional video playback in a compact form factor.
Both KASAI and TAGUS can drive up to two 4K outputs or a smaller single output all from a single 2U media server. KASAI is geared toward touring professionals and larger surface displays that require frame-accurate sync via genlock. TAGUS, by contrast, is optimized for corporate environments and fixed installations that use multiple displays but do not require genlock synchronization.
The Hippotizer MX Series supports 10-bit video playback, SMPTE 2110 and IPMX workflows, allowing for accurate color reproduction and flexibility across IP-based environments. The servers also offer customizable output configurations, upgradeable and swappable media drives, and an OLED status display on the front panel for real-time monitoring. Rear-chassis illumination is included for easier visibility in dark environments.
