ISE 2026 to Debut 600-Drone Show Over Barcelona Skyline

Integrated Systems Europe will debut a 600-drone show during ISE 2026, bringing a synchronized aerial performance to the Barcelona skyline.

The nightly drone display will take place Feb. 3–5 at 6:30 p.m. above the South Access of the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via. Organizers describe the activation as a coordinated fusion of drone choreography, live music and large-scale LED visuals.

Produced by LANG AG in collaboration with RealTime Department, the show will feature synchronized drone choreography and live visuals tied to the ISE South Access Welcome Screen, a 193-square-meter transparent LED display powered by MUXWAVE and RealTime Department.

Organizers said the opening night will include an opera singer, pianist and violinist, along with a digital artist appearing on the Welcome Screen.

“ISE is a highlight for us every year, but the 2026 edition will be something truly special. Together with the show organisers and our long-standing partner RealTime Department, we’re creating an activation at the South Access that showcases the full potential of drone shows,” says Marta Germes, Director Event Drones at LANG AG. “Creative design, digital signage and synchronised drone flights blend seamlessly to create an inspiring experience. For us, this project is a powerful statement for innovation and collaboration in live communication, and we’re thrilled to make it happen with exactly the right partners.”

According to RealTime Department, one of the primary technical challenges was maintaining live synchronization between the drone formations, LED content and live audio performance.

“The main challenge of the project was live synchronisation. Both the drones with the visual content on the transparent LED, as well as the live music and sound, had to be precisely aligned,” says Christoph Gockel, Managing Director at RealTime Department.

Organizers said the activation demonstrates real-time data processing, drone control systems and immersive display technologies working together in a public environment. Sponsors supporting the drone show include DAMM, Absen, Christie, MA Lighting and Clay Paky.

“For over twenty years, ISE has been dedicated to redefining the limits of imagination and achievement within our industry. This year, we are elevating that mission – literally – by bringing our vision to the skies for the very first time in our 22-year history. The ISE 2026 Drone Show is a testament to the innovation at the heart of our community, demonstrating the remarkable outcomes that arise when artistic creativity combines with technological innovation. We are delighted to present this extraordinary spectacle in Barcelona, inviting everyone to be part of an unforgettable week where the possibilities push beyond any ceiling.” explains Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events.

ISE 2026 runs Feb. 3–6 in Barcelona.
