Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) will launch its first CyberSecurity Summit at ISE 2026, focusing on the escalating cybersecurity challenges facing the professional AV and systems integration industries. The event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at Fira de Barcelona.
The announcement coincides with European Cybersecurity Awareness Month, led by ENISA and the European Commission, highlighting the increasing importance of digital security across industries. With AV systems now deeply embedded in enterprise, education, public and entertainment sectors, they face many of the same vulnerabilities as IT infrastructure, including ransomware, data breaches and denial-of-service attacks.
Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events, said cybersecurity is now a business necessity for the AV sector. “Cybersecurity is no longer a technical afterthought, it’s a business-critical factor,” Blackman said. “For AV manufacturers, integrators, and technology users, it’s essential for accessing public tenders, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building long-term trust with clients.”
The summit will be chaired by Pere Ferrer i Sastre, former director general of the Catalan Police (Mossos d’Esquadra), who has extensive experience in public security, digital transformation and critical infrastructure management.
He explains: “Cybersecurity is no longer optional; it lies at the heart of every AV innovation. ISE’s CyberSecurity Summit brings together the brightest minds in our industry to confront today’s digital threats head-on and turn them into strategic advantages. By sharing actionable insights, proven strategies, and real-world experience, we will empower AV professionals to protect critical systems, lead with confidence, and build a safer, smarter future for the entire industry.”
The CyberSecurity Summit will feature keynotes and panels on emerging digital threats, compliance, and operational security. Shaun Reardon of DNV Cyber will present on building cyber resilience, followed by Barco Control Rooms’ Timo Kosig and Andrew Dowsett discussing secure operations. Pedro Pablo Pérez of TRC will speak on protecting corporate communications.
Panel discussions with Laura Caballero of the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, Folly Farrel of TÜV SÜD, and Sergi Carmona of Veolia España will focus on governance, compliance and best practices for securing connected AV environments.
The summit is part of ISE 2026’s overarching theme, Push Beyond, which encourages the AV and systems integration community to tackle the industry’s most urgent challenges. It underscores ISE’s commitment to fostering innovation, resilience and collaboration in an increasingly networked AV landscape.
Registration for ISE 2026 is now open.
