Future Stores, a new brand activation venue on Oxford Street in London, has opened with 400 square meters of programmable LEDs powered by Hippotizer Media Servers. The space is designed as an adaptable platform for retail activations, product launches and experiential marketing.
Retailers rotate through the venue every two to six weeks, using the high-resolution LED environment to merge digital storytelling with physical shopping. Brands including Intel and Snapchat have already used the space to launch campaigns and capture real-time visitor data such as footfall tracking, dwell time and heat mapping.
“Mapping 153 million pixels onto irregular LED surfaces required an ultra-reliable, high-performance solution,” said Nick Phillips, VP of Solution Engineering at Mood Media, the global AV content and brand-experience company behind the project. “Hippotizer gave us the power and precision we needed—and Green Hippo’s team provided incredible on-site support to ensure flawless execution.”
Seven Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 servers were deployed to manage six synchronized 8K feeds across 10 LED surfaces. The venue features 1.5mm MIP (Micro LED in Package) LED walls and COB (Chip on Board) for ultra-fine resolution, with Hippotizer’s Genlock synchronization ensuring pixel-perfect alignment, even with fast-moving content.
Looking ahead, Phillips plans to add a grandMA console for advanced live control and is evaluating Hippotizer’s MX Series for enhanced performance, including 10-bit color support and increased storage capacity.
“Future Stores sets a new benchmark for experiential retail,” Phillips added. “It’s where immersive storytelling meets intelligent data—powered by Green Hippo.”
