LiquidView is turning blank walls into panoramic escapes using Sony’s BRAVIA professional displays. The company’s founder and CEO, Mitch Braff, launched the venture after a visit to a client’s luxury home where one room’s window faced a neighbor’s wall. Braff, who previously ran a business supporting high-end video art, began to envision a solution: a digital window offering calming, high-resolution views from around the world.
Today, LiquidView’s Digital Windows are found in residential settings, assisted living facilities, wellness centers, and schools—anywhere a serene view could enhance a space. At the core of the solution are Sony’s professional BRAVIA displays, including the BZ40L series with Deep Black Non-Glare technology for minimal reflections and rich contrast in bright environments.
Available in sizes ranging from 55 to 85 inches, the BZ40L series delivers 4K HDR visuals with support for HDR10, broad installation flexibility, and 24/7 operational reliability—features LiquidView requires for installations that run continuously.
To create each immersive experience, LiquidView captures ultra-high-resolution footage using Sony’s VENICE 2 cinema camera in 8K, with individual shoots taking more than 30 hours. The resulting content is edited into 24-hour loops with synchronized light and sound that match the exact time and location of the installation, delivering a realistic sense of presence and aligning with circadian rhythms.

When discussing his selection of display technology, Braff noted, “I love the quality of Sony’s camera technology and from my perspective, Sony makes the best displays out there. And the quality between the cameras and displays is consistent.”
The system can be mounted on or recessed into a wall, includes optional trim kits, and offers a variety of content and display orientations. Optional tempered glass adds subtle reflection, further enhancing realism.
He added, “I appreciated the display’s HDR and HDR10 capabilities, which we found to be true HDR and superior to other displays when we were in the specification phase. The HDR settings and calibrations can easily be stored on a USB drive and copied onto other displays, which makes installation easier for our partners and customers. In addition, the displays are built like tanks so we’re confident in using them and know they’re reliable. You can set them and forget them.”
The virtual windows are not just aesthetic—they offer wellness benefits backed by science. A Stanford University study found that participants exposed to LiquidView’s Digital Windows experienced improved physiological and emotional states. “The initial results suggest that exposure to LiquidView Digital Windows improves mental health and well-being,” said Dr. Jamie Zeitzer, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford.
One notable installation took place at The Inspired Community Project (TICP), a nonprofit research organization in the Bronx that supports neurodivergent children from underserved Black, Latinx and low-income communities. The organization operates New York’s first behavioral therapy daycare model, designed for children often excluded from traditional childcare or therapy programs.
As the team planned a new facility in a former windowless drugstore, they discovered LiquidView’s Digital Windows on Instagram and immediately saw their potential. Braff explained, “We were able to transform The Inspired Community Project’s windowless school into a stimulating space with the sounds and views of calming scenes, such as being by the ocean. This allowed them to lease a less expensive windowless property and get similar benefits to a property that had beautiful views, and was something this life- changing non-profit could afford.”
Jill Moses, Founder & CEO of TICP, added, “The LiquidView Windows in our classrooms have been an incredible asset. These immersive visuals help us transform our therapy spaces into calming, engaging environments that promote emotional regulation and reduce sensory overload for the children we serve. Our kids may not have access to safe, scenic spaces outside of our center, so this visual connection to the natural world is more than just aesthetic—it’s therapeutic.”
As LiquidView’s client list and use cases grow, the company continues to value its evolving relationship with Sony. Hofmann said, “The level of support Sony provides, from pre-sales to sales support, has been really helpful in developing and refining our product as we move forward.” Braff added, “And with the APIs available, we can continue to make changes into the future, including instant remote support and streamlined color adjustments.”
