Logitech has introduced Spot, a wireless occupancy and environmental sensor designed to enhance workplace efficiency, well-being, and energy management. Spot uses advanced sensors to monitor environmental conditions, automate room reservations, and provide actionable insights to optimize workspace performance.
Spot helps address common workplace challenges, such as poor air quality and inefficient energy use, which can impact employee productivity and health. Research from Harvard and Berkeley indicates that high levels of carbon dioxide and pollutants in office environments are linked to lower cognitive performance and absenteeism. Spot captures data on factors like air quality, temperature, and occupancy, offering suggestions such as improving ventilation or adjusting room usage.
The battery-powered device features a peel-and-stick design for easy installation in standard rooms, phone booths, or flexible workspaces. Spot pairs with Logitech CollabOS devices, like the Tap Scheduler, via Bluetooth, or integrates with Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) gateways for rooms without video conferencing technology.
Spot integrates with Logitech Sync, providing IT teams with real-time data on room performance, including Health and Energy Scores. Sync offers actionable recommendations, such as reducing room occupancy or using fans to optimize air circulation. The sensor also supports workspace management platforms, including Microsoft Places, Microsoft Teams, Appspace, Metrikus, Samsung SmartThings Pro, and Zoom Workspace Reservation.
Spot combines occupancy and environmental data to generate energy scores, enabling companies to optimize their energy use and reduce costs. When rooms are unoccupied, energy settings can be adjusted automatically. The device’s ultra-low-power operation and replaceable batteries, which last up to four years, further enhance its sustainability profile.
Spot’s capabilities are embedded within Logitech’s Rally Board 65, an all-in-one video conferencing solution with a 65-inch interactive display. Access to features like room health and energy scores, auto-booking, and Sync APIs requires a Logitech Essential or Select service plan, priced at $199 and $399 per room annually, respectively. Pricing for the standalone Spot sensor is expected in the second half of 2025.
