Projection Mapping Transforms Xpark Aquarium’s New Exhibit

Christie is powering the new “Xpark meets NAKED – Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean” exhibition at Xpark Aquarium in Taipei. The exhibition, created by Japan’s NAKED, INC., opened June 28 as part of the aquarium’s fifth anniversary celebrations.

This captivating attraction blends real marine life with digital art from NAKED’s “NAKED OCEAN” series, offering an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Through oceanic projections, interactive displays, and visual storytelling, the exhibit transforms the ocean into a living canvas, merging nature, creativity, and technology to inspire awe and reflection.

Christie’s long-time partner, Dacoms Technology, managed the projection design and system integration for the exhibit. The setup includes 15 Christie 1DLP laser projectors—featuring Inspire Series DWU960ST-iS projectors with short-throw zoom lenses, GS Series DWU880-GS projectors, and six Pandoras Box® Servers for real-time video playback and content processing.

The projectors cast lifelike visuals across expansive curved walls and floors, enveloping visitors in dynamic marine environments filled with light, sound, and motion. Christie’s technology continues to enhance Xpark, which previously deployed over 60 Christie projectors, including GS and Captiva Series models, and 20 Pandoras Box Servers, Compact Players, and Widget Designer when the aquarium first opened.

“Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean” is the first major collaboration between Xpark and NAKED, INC., following the success of their initial partnership in January 2025 with the limited-time attraction “Xpark – Sea of Light Jellyfish – by NAKED, INC.”. This second phase marks a significant expansion, with nearly 70% of the indoor zones renewed with digital installations designed for maximum engagement and impact.
