Shure Expands Microflex Ecosystem With New Loudspeakers and Amplifier

Shure has expanded its Microflex Ecosystem portfolio with a new line of passive loudspeakers and a networked amplifier designed for conference rooms. The Microflex (MX) Loudspeakers are intended to provide clear audio, flexible installation options, and integration with other Microflex devices.

The lineup includes four passive loudspeakers—ceiling and wall-mounted models—along with a networked conferencing amplifier. These additions join Shure’s existing MXN5W-C networked loudspeaker, offering users a more complete system that includes microphones, digital signal processing (DSP), and loudspeakers designed to work together.

The MX Loudspeakers incorporate standards-based security protocols, including 802.1x and AES encryption when connected to the MXN-AMP, allowing IT teams to manage AV security alongside other networked devices.

Shure’s new lineup includes:

  • PoE+ Networked Amplifier:  Multichannel PoE+ powered amplifier is designed for superior speech and audio reproduction in meeting rooms. When used with Microflex Ecosystem microphones, DSP, and loudspeakers, it delivers immersive sound and quick installation across various room types. It features Dante inputs and outputs, an analog stereo input, customizable EQ, and EQ presets for the passive MX loudspeakers. The amplifier can be mounted on a rack, wall, or ceiling depending on room design requirements. The MXN amplifier is compatible with leading videoconferencing and communication platforms.
  • MXP Passive Loudspeakers include:
    • Mini Pendant Passive (MXP-1) Loudspeaker: Features a sleek, compact, and low-profile design, it is ideal for open architecture or wood slat ceilings. The innovative Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver enhances speech intelligibility and offers wide dispersion for complete room coverage and consistent sound quality for every listener. Available in black or white finish and it can also be painted to match room decor.
    • Wall Mount Passive (MXP-3) Loudspeaker: Comes in a slim, compact design that can be wall or ceiling mounted for meeting rooms by employing enhanced spatial (stereo) audio. The innovative Balanced Mode Radiator driver delivers full-fidelity and premium audio reproduction. Available in black or white finish and it can also be painted to match room decor.
    • Ceiling Mount Passive (MXP-5) Loudspeaker:  Offers an unobtrusive design that streamlines shallow depth installation, ideal for the needs of retrofit configurations. The dual-driver architecture delivers full-fidelity, premium audio reproduction and optimum speech intelligibility. When paired with the MXN-AMP, up to 8 MXP-5 loudspeakers can be used in 70V mode. Available in black or white finish and can be painted to match room décor.
    • Pendant Passive (MXP-6) Loudspeaker: Complements any space with a sleek industrial design that is perfect for open ceiling spaces. Features a dual-driver architecture for consistent tonality in blended installations. You can install multiple pendants to easily meet the audio coverage needs of almost any room size. When paired with the MXN-AMP, it can drive up to 8 MXP-6s in 70V mode. Available in black or white finish and it can also be painted to match room decor.
