Tascam Unveils DR-05XP and DR-07XP 32-Bit Audio Recorders

Tascam has launched two new portable stereo recorders, the DR-05XP and DR-07XP, designed for professional-quality recording across a variety of applications, including music, audio-for-video, meetings, and dictation. Both models feature 32-bit float resolution, providing high-quality recordings with minimal noise and distortion. The 32-bit float mode, combined with a 96 kHz sample rate, ensures superior sound and eliminates concerns over recording levels being too high or low.

The DR-05XP and DR-07XP offer long-lasting recording capabilities, with support for SDXC cards up to 512 GB and over 17 hours of battery life, making them ideal for on-the-go use. Both models include built-in microphones that handle audio levels up to 125 dB SPL. The DR-05XP comes with two omnidirectional fixed condenser microphones for capturing sound from all directions, while the DR-07XP features unidirectional stereo condenser microphones that can be configured in either AB or XY orientations to capture a wide stereo image.

Additionally, both recorders feature a stereo mini-jack for connecting mini microphones or external line sources. The DR-05XP and DR-07XP can also serve as 2-in/2-out USB audio interfaces via USB-C or function as USB microphones. A variety of features, including a chromatic tuner, reverb effects, low-cut filters, and automatic tone output for camera synchronization, are also available on both models.
