Planar Expands DirectLight Series With Ultra-Thin, Curved MicroLED Display

Planar has introduced the DirectLight Slim Series, an ultra-thin MicroLED video wall display designed for curved and space-constrained installations. Expanding the Planar DirectLight family, the new display is built for applications including control rooms, broadcast studios, virtual production, extended reality, simulation, training, and research.

With an installation depth of less than two inches, the DirectLight Slim Series supports tightly curved video walls while minimizing color shift compared to other LED displays. It is also well-suited for flat installations in limited spaces, offering front-serviceable access for easier maintenance. The series features MicroLED technology and comes in 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, and 1.8-millimeter pixel pitches, delivering up to 1,600 nits of brightness and a unique 4:9 aspect ratio for flexible deployment.

The Planar DirectLight Slim Series includes pixel-level monitoring for detailed display health insights. Customers can pair it with the Planar WallDirector Video Controller or a compatible ColorLight controller. The solution also offers remote power capabilities and five times the bandwidth of competing systems.

In addition to launching the Slim Series, Planar has enhanced the DirectLight Pro Series by integrating pixel-level monitoring and MicroLED technology.
