LG Electronics USA has launched an in-house virtual production studio at its North American headquarters, enhancing its content creation capabilities while reducing production costs and timelines.
Developed in collaboration with LG’s creative agency HSAD, the studio features LG’s 1.5-millimeter pixel-pitch commercial LED display technology. The two-wall setup enables immersive and flexible content production, integrating Megapixel’s HELIOS LED Processing Platform and Mo-Sys camera tracking solutions.
LG recently acquired an interest in Mo-Sys, a provider of virtual production solutions and camera robotics. The partnership allows LG to combine its LED displays and controllers with Mo-Sys’s extended reality (XR) technologies, offering a complete solution for virtual production. Megapixel’s HELIOS platform further enhances real-time control over color, tone mapping, and camera integration.

Unlike traditional studios, LG’s virtual production setup streamlines workflows, cutting production times from days to hours. The system incorporates parallax motion and real-time rendering to improve realism and efficiency. LG plans to expand its use of the facility for episodic content and potential collaborations with external brands.
The LG Virtual Production Studio includes a 25-foot, two-wall display featuring LG MAGNIT Studio Series LBAG015 direct-view MicroLED displays in 13-by-8-foot and 8-by-4-foot configurations at a 90-degree angle. The fine pixel pitch enables detailed visuals at closer camera distances, reducing the need for larger studio spaces compared to conventional LED setups.
