LG Electronics USA introduced the LG MAGNIT Gen 2 Micro LED LMPD display, a new large-format display designed for commercial installations that require high-resolution visuals and flexible system management.
The LMPD combines LG’s Micro LED technology with NovaStar‘s COEX 5G Solution. NovaStar’s Vision Management Platform software provides real-time monitoring and diagnostics, color processing and system management from a single platform.
“The LG MAGNIT Gen 2 Micro LED display was built for projects where image precision, control and deployment flexibility have to work together,” said Michael Kosla, B2B senior vice president at LG Electronics USA. “By combining LG Micro LED display technology with NovaStar’s processing platform, the LMPD display gives integrators a more confident way to configure, monitor and manage Micro LED systems for sophisticated projects and commercial applications with complex operational demands.”
For larger installations, the LMPD supports SFP+ connectivity that can extend signal transmission between the display and controller up to 6.2 miles over fiber. LG says the system’s high-bandwidth architecture is also designed to reduce cabling requirements and provide more flexibility for installations in spaces such as auditoriums and control rooms.
The display includes LG’s FLAT, or Front Line Aligned Tiling, technology to align LED module seams and minimize surface gaps and black-level variations. Other features include 160-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, five-layer grayscale calibration, HDR10 and HLG support, full black coating and technology designed to provide consistent color across the display.
The LMPD expands LG’s MAGNIT LMPx Series, which also includes the LMPA and LMPB displays. The new LMPD will make its first U.S. public appearance Sept. 15 at Starpower’s Dallas-Fort Worth showroom.
