Barcelona Hotel Modernizes Audio System With Bluesound Multi-Zone Solution

Bluesound Professional has deployed a networked audio system at the Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal, replacing an existing analog setup to improve sound quality and simplify control across multiple spaces.

Working with AV integrator Wipple and distributor GAPLASA PRO, the installation spans reception, bar, lounge, gym, restaurant and outdoor areas, delivering audio across four independent zones.

The system includes PoE-powered speakers and in-ceiling pendant speakers connected through the BluOS platform, with a single network player managing audio distribution. A wall-mounted touch panel provides centralized control, allowing staff to adjust audio in each zone independently.

“The key requirement was simplified operation,” says Albert Paya, Pro AV Sales Specialist at Wipple. “Sound quality has improved significantly across all communal spaces, and everything can be managed from one place.”

The hotel operates around the clock, and the installation was completed in two days with minimal disruption. Pre-configuration off-site allowed the system to be deployed quickly once installed.

According to the integrator, the previous system required more cabling and frequent maintenance. The updated network-based approach reduces complexity and allows for easier expansion.

“The old setup caused constant configuration problems,” Paya said. “Now that the reliable Bluesound Professional system is in place, our phone lines are extremely quiet!”

The system also supports curated music streaming through Mood Media, allowing the hotel to tailor audio content across different areas.

Bluesound Professional said the installation provides a scalable foundation for future expansion, with plans already in place to add more speakers.
