Captivate, a Hall Research brand, announced the CP-PVOT-C1622, a 4K dual-lens camera designed for conference rooms, classrooms, training facilities and streaming applications.
The CP-PVOT-C1622 combines an 8-megapixel PTZ main camera with 3x optical zoom and a 2-megapixel panoramic camera with a 120-degree field of view. The panoramic lens continuously detects participants across the room while the main lens frames the active speaker. Four linear microphone arrays provide sound localization for the camera’s audio tracking.
The camera includes Auto Framing, Speaker Tracking, Presenter Tracking and Individuals Gallery modes. Captivate says these modes can support applications ranging from meetings and instructor-led training to hybrid classes without requiring someone to manually operate the camera.
“Rooms don’t all use the same camera path, so we built the CP-PVOT-C1622 to hand off video however the room needs it, whether over USB, over HDMI, or over the network,” said Ken Eagle, CEO of Hall Research. “That means one camera covers the BYOD laptop meeting, the codec room, and the production feed, so integrators can standardize on a single model across a building.”
For connectivity, the CP-PVOT-C1622 can output video simultaneously over USB-C, HDMI and NDI. USB 3.0 Type-C supports video up to 4K at 30 fps, while the HDMI 1.4b output can feed a display, conference codec, projector or capture device.
Its LAN connection provides NDI output, Web UI and Telnet control and PoE power. A USB-A port can also connect third-party peripherals such as a speakerphone.
IT teams can adjust camera settings remotely through the Web UI over the network. The Captivate CP-PVOT-C1622 is available now through Captivate dealers.
