Carousel has expanded its integration with the Amazon Signage Stick, adding new tools designed to give IT and AV teams more control over digital signage players through the Carousel Cloud platform.
The new capabilities use Amazon Signage’s Remote Management APIs and allow operators to manage more device functions directly from Carousel. The updates include over-the-air software and operating system updates, scheduled display power controls and display rotation for portrait and inverted-landscape installations. Carousel can also identify specific Amazon Signage Stick models and monitor CPU, memory, disk usage and overall device health.
The Power Save feature uses HDMI-CEC to turn compatible displays on and off at scheduled times, helping organizations manage energy use across multiple locations. Carousel’s display rotation settings are handled at the operating system level and remain in place after a device reboots, including when displaying YouTube content.
“Amazon Signage opening its APIs to authorized providers gave us room to build more deeply into the device itself,” said John Reilly, Chief Operating Officer of Carousel. “It’s a closer integration with Amazon Signage, and it means that as new capabilities become available, we can bring them into Carousel directly.”
Carousel said it plans to continue expanding its Amazon Signage Stick integration as additional capabilities become available to authorized content management providers.
