Chyron has introduced PRIME Scorebug, a dedicated scorebug solution for live sports productions, and announced new scorebug capabilities for its Chyron LIVE platform.
Built on the PRIME Platform, PRIME Scorebug is designed for sports broadcasters that need broadcast graphics, data integration and customizable workflows. The company said the solution supports API-based data integration, operator controls and client-specific graphic presentation.
“In working closely with our sports customers across all tiers, it is clear that the scorebug is the
most important graphic element of any live sports production. Scorebugs are not ‘just another
graphic.’ They have to be highly dynamic and accurate, and enhance the viewer experience,”
states Steve Papadakis, senior vice president of sales, Americas, at Chyron.
Because PRIME Scorebug runs on the PRIME Platform, organizations can use the same graphic assets across scorebugs and other live graphics, helping maintain visual consistency. Chyron said customers can also configure systems to run both PRIME Scorebug and PRIME CG graphics workflows.
According to Chyron, several customers have already deployed PRIME Scorebug during live sports events prior to the product’s official release.
The company also announced that Chyron LIVE, its software-as-a-service production platform, now includes dedicated scorebug functionality. Chyron LIVE combines camera switching, graphics and replay tools in a single platform and is commonly used for collegiate sports, one-off events and productions that need to scale beyond existing control room resources.
The new scorebug capabilities in Chyron LIVE include purpose-built graphics, data integration services and dedicated controls for sports productions.
“Sports audiences across all tiers are more sophisticated and demanding than ever before,” said Mark Friedman, vice president of sports sales, North America, at Chyron. “At Chyron, we ensure that broadcasters of any size can exceed viewer expectations, attract sponsors and advertisers and keep costs low with efficient workflows.”
