Ditto Launches Android Receiver for Digital Signage, Screen Sharing and Alerts

Squirrels has launched the Ditto Android Receiver, expanding its Ditto platform to compatible Android-powered TVs, projectors and interactive flat panels. The new software allows organizations to use displays for digital signage, wireless screen sharing and emergency alerts without adding separate receiver hardware.

The Ditto Android Receiver can be installed directly on compatible Android devices through Google Play. This eliminates the need for a separate set-top box, dongle, adapter or media player. Once configured, displays can be centrally managed through the Ditto platform, giving IT and AV teams another option for adding communication and collaboration capabilities to existing displays.

“Schools and businesses want the ability to display signage, collaborate wirelessly and strengthen their emergency communications plan, but purchasing new hardware to accomplish that often creates a number of financial and technology challenges,” said Tom Crilley, Director of Communications at Squirrels. “The Ditto Android Receiver app helps solve that problem.”

The new Android option joins existing Ditto receiver options for Apple TV and Windows, allowing organizations with different types of devices across classrooms, meeting spaces and other environments to use the Ditto platform. The Ditto Android Receiver is available now through Google Play.
