EPOS has added native Bluetooth certification for Microsoft Teams to its IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, allowing users to connect directly to supported computers without requiring a USB dongle.
The new functionality is available through a firmware update delivered via the EPOS Connect app. According to EPOS, removing the dongle frees up USB ports while simplifying hot-desking, hybrid work and switching between multiple devices.
“The IMPACT 500 and 1000 devices are engineered to provide the highest levels of call quality and active noise cancellation,” said Søren Holm Printz, vice president of strategy and product management at EPOS. “With native Bluetooth and multiple connectivity, users can now switch between their primary devices effortlessly, maintaining focus and performance wherever they are working.”
EPOS also said it has strengthened Bluetooth security by adding Resolvable Private Addresses (RPA), a feature designed to help prevent device tracking while allowing previously paired devices to reconnect securely.
