Extron has released an update to its EMS Express Mobile Software for Quantum Ultra videowall processors, adding live content preview, support for new DTP3 input and output cards, and expanded management capabilities.
The update, available with EMS version 1.8 and Quantum Ultra firmware 6.03, allows users to view live and static source content directly within the EMS interface while creating presets and monitoring videowall configurations.
“The latest EMS-Quantum Ultra update reflects our commitment to delivering smarter, more intuitive tools for AV professionals,” says Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for Extron. “With features like live content preview and seamless DTP3 integration, we’re empowering users to manage even the most dynamic videowall environments with greater ease and precision.”
The software is now compatible with Extron’s Quantum IN4DTP3 and OUT4DTP3 cards for Quantum Ultra II systems.
Extron also expanded user account support from previous versions. The software now supports up to 50 login accounts with three permission levels — Admin, Designer and User — allowing organizations to assign different levels of access for system configuration, layout design and operation.
Another addition doubles the number of supported Canvas workspaces from 10 to 20. According to Extron, this enables a single Quantum Ultra or Quantum Ultra II system to manage up to 20 videowalls with different resolutions and screen layouts. Administrators can also assign permissions and manage source access for each Canvas.
EMS–Quantum Ultra is a tablet-based application that enables wireless videowall control using touch gestures such as drag and drop, pinch, zoom, swipe and tap. The software supports tasks including preset selection and window sizing, and can operate alongside Extron’s Videowall Configuration Software (VCS) and a control system.
