Extron has updated its VCA 100 Virtual Control Appliance with new redundancy and alarm reporting features designed to improve reliability for centralized AV control environments.
The update adds a redundancy feature that allows a backup VCA 100 system to automatically take over if the primary system fails, creating a high-availability control setup.
Extron said the update also includes enhanced alarm reporting that can send email notifications to support staff when issues are detected within the redundant system.
“With this update, we’re strengthening system resilience through redundancy and simpler day-to-day management,” said Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer at Extron.
The VCA 100 is designed as a centralized AV control platform that uses virtual control processors to manage AV systems across organizations.
The platform includes five virtual control processors and can be expanded to support additional processors through Extron LinkLicenses. The system can also integrate with touchpanels, button panels and other control interfaces.
Extron said the platform is intended to provide organizations with an AV control system that can be deployed, scaled and centrally managed across enterprise environments.
