Jabra introduced Jabra Reach, a single-cable BYOD extension solution designed to simplify video meeting room installations and help AV and IT teams create more consistent deployments across different room sizes.
Jabra Reach uses a single USB-C connection to connect a user’s laptop to a room’s display, camera, microphones and speakers. Built on HDBaseT technology, the connection can extend up to 100 meters, or 328 feet. The system also supports optional USB-C power delivery up to 100W, allowing users to charge their laptops through the same connection.
“Walking into a room and connecting your own laptop should be the simplest thing in the world, but too often it isn’t,” said Holger Reisinger, senior vice president of Jabra’s Video Business Unit. “Jabra Reach solves that at the infrastructure level. Users get one cable to connect, and it works with any video bar or room system and doesn’t change how the existing setup functions.”
For IT teams, Jabra Reach can be managed through Jabra Plus Management for centralized configuration, monitoring and support. Flexible mounting options, concealed ports and secured cables are also designed to create cleaner installations at the table and behind the display.
Alongside Jabra Reach, Jabra announced firmware updates for its PanaCast portfolio. The updates will add People Count for room utilization insights, Custom Wallpaper for branded meeting room displays, Web UI over USB for browser-based configuration and CLI functionality for large-scale deployment and device management.
