LG Launches Outdoor and Window-Facing Displays With UL-Verified Anti-Yellowing Tech

LG Electronics USA introduced a new line of high-brightness digital signage displays that feature anti-discoloration technology verified by UL Solutions to help prevent screen yellowing—a common issue for outdoor-facing displays exposed to prolonged sunlight. LG says it’s the first in the industry to receive UL verification for digital signage anti-discoloration performance.

Using testing methods and defect-evaluation criteria developed by LG, UL Solutions independently assessed and verified the new displays. Previously, there were no standardized or internationally recognized tests to measure resistance to display yellowing. In addition to LG’s new anti-discoloration technology, all models in the series run on webOS Signage 6.1.

The LG XE3P Series is available in 49-, 55- and 86-inch sizes. Designed to perform in direct sunlight, the displays offer a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (FHD) and peak brightness up to 3,500 nits. Thermal management systems prevent black circles and help extend display life.

Each unit features an IP56-rated sealed design that protects against water and dust, along with IK10-rated tempered, laminated glass to minimize damage from impacts—helping reduce LCD module replacements and lower long-term maintenance costs.

The XE3P Series uses M+ panel technology to achieve high brightness while consuming less power. Auto-brightness adjustment helps optimize visibility and energy efficiency based on ambient light conditions. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow for wireless content distribution, and the displays include a range of built-in sensors, such as a vandalism alert and self-leveling tool.

For window-facing signage, LG also introduced the 75-inch Window Facing XS4P with 3,840 x 2,160 (UHD) resolution and up to 4,000 nits brightness. The 86XF3SK is an 86-inch UHD open-frame display with brightness up to 3,300 nits, designed for integrated or custom applications.
