Lightspeed Updates Classroom Audio Systems With New Design and Bluetooth Connectivity

Lightspeed has introduced updates to its Redcat and Topcat instructional audio systems, along with new Bluetooth connectivity for its Media Connector, aimed at simplifying classroom audio and improving flexibility for teachers.

The company said the updates are designed to enhance ease of use while supporting clear audio delivery in K-12 learning environments.

The Media Connector now includes Bluetooth pairing capabilities, allowing teachers to stream audio wirelessly from phones and tablets. Lightspeed said the update makes it easier to incorporate multimedia content into classroom instruction.

“Our mission is to remove as much interference as possible from teacher-student communication in the classroom,” said David Solomon, CEO of Lightspeed. “That includes continuously updating our systems and accessories to enhance ease of use and functionality. The more seamless we can make users’ experience with our solutions, the more attention they can devote to teaching and learning.”

The updated Redcat system features an all-in-one design that can be placed on a table, mounted on a wall or used with an optional battery for portable operation. Lightspeed said the system is designed to provide even sound distribution and speech intelligibility throughout the classroom.

The Topcat system features a flush-mounted design intended to blend into classroom ceilings while providing speech reinforcement and multimedia audio playback. According to the company, the system combines flat-panel and cone speakers to support both voice and multimedia content.
