Owl Labs has launched Meeting Owl 5, a redesigned 360-degree video conferencing device that combines 4K video, AI-powered audio and speaker tracking for hybrid meetings. The new model builds on insights the company says it gathered from billions of meeting minutes across 275,000 organizations.
Meeting Owl 5 features a 4K camera designed to capture participants throughout the room, including those seated farther from the device. AI-powered speaker tracking follows the conversation, while eight beamforming microphones use Fraunhofer IIS’s upHear Microphone Processing technology to improve speech pickup.
The device runs on a Qualcomm 6490 processor and Android 15, supporting AI features, voice tracking and 4K video. A single USB-C connection brings together video, audio and content sharing, while native HDMI passthrough provides an additional connectivity option. Meeting Owl 5 also uses a standard UVC interface for compatibility with collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.
Owl Labs redesigned the hardware with a lower center of gravity, base-mounted controls and acoustic fabric intended to improve durability. The device is made with 45% post-consumer recycled plastic and can operate independently, with wired and wireless pairing between Owl devices planned for 2027 to support larger meeting spaces.
For organizations with more advanced deployment requirements, Owl Labs also offers Meeting Owl 5 Pro, which runs on the same platform and adds Microsoft Teams certification, support for fully integrated room systems and expanded deployment flexibility.
“We defined the 360 standard, and have spent years learning how people actually meet and what customers expect of their meeting experiences,” said Frank Weishaupt, CEO of Owl Labs. “Meeting room requirements have dramatically shifted since we introduced the first Meeting Owl.”
Meeting Owl 5 is available in the United States for $1,499 through Owl Labs and authorized partners and retailers. European availability is expected in early November.
