Panopto and Epiphan Video announced the availability of the EC20, the first Panopto-certified PTZ camera, during Panopto Innovate EMEA 2026.
The EC20 connects directly to Panopto’s Video Knowledge Platform as a Remote Recorder, giving institutions a new option for capturing video in classrooms, seminar rooms, simulation labs and other learning spaces without changing existing encoder setups.
Designed for lecture capture, the Epiphan EC20 includes a 4K CMOS sensor, 20x optical zoom and AI auto-tracking with Presenter and Zone modes. A single Ethernet cable supports PoE+, Dante audio over IP and direct streaming to Panopto. The camera also includes an integrated LCD screen for setup and Epiphan Edge cloud management for secure deployment at scale.
“Teaching extends far beyond the traditional lecture hall into seminar rooms, simulation labs and collaborative spaces that have historically been difficult to equip for video capture,” said Kuljit Dharni, chief product officer at Panopto. “Our customers asked for a direct-to-camera remote recording solution to complement our certified appliances. This partnership delivers exactly that, providing institutions with a flexible, affordable way to capture high-quality content in any environment where learning happens.”
Yusupha Touray, vice president of product at Epiphan Video, said the EC20 simplifies lecture capture by giving Panopto customers a deeply integrated camera solution designed to reduce barriers to adoption.
The EC20 is available now from Epiphan and authorized channel partners worldwide. Panopto Remote Recorder integration will be available as a free firmware update May 11.
