The Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) has named Jim Crumbley its Volunteer of the Year and appointed Don Hough to its board of directors.

Crumbley, president and CEO of Risk Response Team Inc. and co-chair of the PASS Technical Committee, received the organization’s Volunteer of the Year award during the PASS ISC Town Hall.

PASS said Crumbley has contributed to the development of the organization’s K-12 safety and security guidelines, particularly in the area of video surveillance. He also serves on the PASS Advisory Council and has participated in webinars and educational efforts focused on school security technology.

According to PASS, Crumbley has supported the organization for more than a decade and was previously recognized by the Security Industry Association as Volunteer of the Year in 2015 for his work helping establish PASS.

The organization also announced the appointment of Don Hough to its board of directors.

Hough serves as vice president of COSECURE and previously held leadership roles within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. PASS said his experience includes school safety strategy, emergency preparedness and security program development.

During his federal service, Hough helped oversee national school safety initiatives and contributed to the development of K-12 safety resources and programs.
