Sennheiser has introduced the HD 480 PRO, a closed-back headphone designed for professional audio work in studio and live environments.
The company positions the model as its top closed-back offering, built to address common challenges with closed-back headphones, particularly low-end accuracy and long-term comfort during extended sessions.
“This is where the HD 480 PRO excel,” said Jimmy R. Landry, Category Market Manager, Music Industry at Sennheiser. “…their low-end is super-accurate and realistic.”
Sennheiser said the headphones are intended for applications including recording, monitoring and mixing, with a focus on delivering consistent sound that translates across different listening environments.
The HD 480 PRO features passive sound isolation and design elements aimed at reducing unwanted vibration and distortion to help maintain signal clarity.
The company also emphasized comfort, noting the headphones are designed to reduce pressure points and support extended use, including for users who wear glasses.
Sennheiser describes the HD 480 PRO as its most versatile professional headphones to date, designed for use across studio, live and mobile workflows.
The headphones include a detachable cable that can be worn on either side, allowing flexibility for different recording setups.
Sennheiser said the HD 480 PRO is available now, starting at $479.
