Videri Adds AI Capabilities to Digital Signage Platform

Videri has introduced Videri Intelligence, an AI layer built into its digital signage platform that is designed to help users build applications, manage signage networks and analyze performance.

The company said Videri Intelligence is integrated directly into the Videri platform rather than offered as a separate AI application. Videri said its platform currently supports more than 90,000 enterprise displays worldwide.

Videri Intelligence includes three capabilities: Videri App Studio, Videri Actions and Videri Insights. App Studio and Actions are available now, while Insights is being rolled out progressively.

“For years, the category told signage operators that ‘AI’ meant one more dashboard to check,” said Rob Avery, senior vice president of product at Videri.

“We never bought that. When you own the screen, the firmware, and the platform, you don’t bolt intelligence on. You build it in. Videri Intelligence is the platform our customers already run, with the throttle finally wide open.”

Videri App Studio is designed to let users create signage applications using plain-English prompts rather than relying on a traditional development process.

Users can describe an application, its layout and the data it should use. Videri said App Studio can create applications such as menu boards connected to live inventory, dashboards connected to Microsoft Power BI or lobby displays that use visitor information.

The capability is intended to reduce the development and integration work traditionally associated with creating custom signage applications.

Videri Actions is designed to automate routine signage management tasks. Users can tell Actions what they want to accomplish, review the proposed change and approve it for execution. Examples include changing promotions across playlists and locations, adjusting screen brightness based on the time of day and identifying displays with scheduling gaps.

Videri Insights, which is still rolling out, is intended to analyze information collected by the signage platform and provide relevant findings without requiring an operator to formulate a specific query.

The company said Insights will use data such as device telemetry, playback information and engagement data to identify trends and potential areas for action. Examples include identifying creative associated with stronger results, finding discrepancies between foot traffic and transactions and determining which fleet issues should receive attention first.
